Call for contributions:

HABITAT III - a new agenda for spatial planning?

This issue of the journal RaumPlanung (spatial planning) invites contributions to discuss important topics of the Habitat III Conference and the New Urban Agenda: How should urban governance change for sustainable cities? What objectives should be given priority for future urban development? Although in many cases the New Urban Agenda is seen as an important and guiding factor in urban planning in the Global South only, it is a universal agenda. What is the position of representatives of cities, municipalities and NGOs in Europe towards the New Urban Agenda? How will we deal with sustainable urban development in the future? What kind of further conclusions can we draw from the Habitat III conference in Quito regarding the agenda for urban planning in Europe?

For this issue, contributions from the practitioners and the academia are invited to discuss critically the results of the Habitat III conference and to contribute to a discussion on the New Urban Agenda.

N-Aerus will edit one issue of the German journal RaumPlanung on Habitat III – a new for urban planning? will be edited by Prof. Dr. Peter Ache, Radboud University and Dr. Wolfgang Scholz, TU Dortmund.

Please click here for the German version of the Call for contributions.

Deadline for submission is May 31st 2017 to redaktion@ifr-ev.de
